High Risk Factors for RAD

While there are not official causes for RADA, there are factors that can increment the risk of getting this diagnosis.

The more risk factors a child experiences in the first three years of life (including pregnancy), the greater the likelihood that they will develop Reactive Attachment Disorder

•Maternal Ambivalence

•Drugs or Alcohol During Pregnancy

•In-utero Pain or Trauma

 

•Abuse

 

•Neglect

•Maternal Separation

 

•Maternal Depression

 

•Ongoing Pain

 

•Poor Day Care

 

•Repeated Moves

 

•Instability in the family environment
